
NASCAR’s new man Marcos Ambrose was born in Launceston, Tasmania, Australia, on September 1, 1976. He’s the boy of race vehicle driver, Ross Ambrose. When he was 10 years old, Ambrose was racing in karts. Before his 20th birthday, he’d accumulated ten Tasmanian junior carting game titles, and was named Australia’s karting champion.
In 1996, Ambrose moved in to Formula Ford racing. His father had co-founded Formula Ford chassis builder, Van Dieman. In the newbie, Ambrose finished second within the Australian Formula Ford championship.
In the 90’s, Ambrose traveled to Europe and ultimately won the Ford Formula championship in 1999. After his money went dry, Ambrose needed to go back to Australia, but he switched the problem to his advantage, and signed with Stone Siblings racing. In the initial V8 Supercar race, Ambrose qualified and continued racing and eventually to become named Rookie of the season through the finish from the 2001 season.
In 2002, Ambrose won the very first race of year, and handle the championship at third place. The year after, he taken the championship win and repeated it the next year.
Marcos’ debut came on April 1, 2006 in the Kroger 250 at Martinsville Speedway in Virginia, where he finished 33rd. That season he got another place finish in the Kansas Speedway in This summer, and obtained his first pole in the Built Ford Tough in Kentucky. Though he finished the growing season at 21st within the standings, he was granted the Rookie of the season for that third amount of time in his racing career.
In 2007, Ambrose became a member of the Countrywide Series competition, where his first race was at Orbitz 300 in Daytona. That year he continued to complete with six top-ten races.
It had been in 2008, that Ambrose joined the Sprint Cup Series, which same year he obtained his first win, at Watkins Glen Worldwide within the Zippo 200 within the Countrywide Series. His first full season within the Sprint Cup was 2009. His record that year was impressive, with four top-five and seven top-ten finishes.
This year, Ambrose became a member of the Richard Petty Motorsports team. To date this year, he’s had three top-five and six top-ten finishes.
