Are You Buying Leads For Your MLM? If so, DON’T

If you are buying leads for your multi-level marketing (MLM) business, then you are most likely at the point where you ran out of friends and family to speak with concerning your opportunity. Here is why you are hurting yourself by doing that.

If you choose to buy leads for your MLM business, what you need to know is that lead companies sell you on business opportunity leads. These are leads of people looking for a business opportunity and not necessarily a business opportunity in MLM. Those leads could be business opportunity seekers in e-commerce, AdSense, vending machine business, franchises, etc.

Specific MLM leads are people who are interested in a business opportunity in MLM. What this means to you is that once you contact them, those people are sold on the concept of network marketing but have not found the right company to work with. They are familiar with network marketing and do not assume it is another “pyramid” or “Ponzi” scheme.

Generic business opportunity leads are people who are not sold on the idea of network marketing and could care less about what you are offering to them. These are leads of people who might be turned off to network marketing but turned on to a possible e-commerce business opportunity.

The second problem with buying leads is that you eliminate yourself from the lead generation equation and put the job of lead generating in somebody else’s hands. Experts, professionals, and veterans in network marketing always generate their own high quality leads. When you get in the habit of generating your own FREE leads for your MLM business, those leads are exclusive to you and you alone. Those leads are targeted leads because you put up the advertising. When you respond to a lead that you created using your own lead generation system, those leads are willing to see what you have to offer. You had something they wanted. When you contact them, you feel less pressured to sell them on anything like a telemarketer would do while cold calling a prospect. This prospect you call is no longer COLD, but rather is considered WARM, hence he is a part of your WARM market.

Keep in mind that when you put up your own articles, advertisements, booth at a county fair, you maintain complete control over the quality of your leads. If you buy leads, you have NO control over the quality of those leads whatsoever and relinquish that control to a lead broker who could care less if your leads are of good quality or not.
