Hi, guys. This is Marco Abanico with MLM Television.
Being a success in Organo Gold means being able to step out of your comfort zone.
Who likes to be uncomfortable? Anyone out there like the feeling of sweaty palms, a fast-beating heart, nervous stomach? Well, what if I told you that stepping outside of your comfort zone could be the best thing you’ll ever do?
Many times, we create rules for ourselves based solely on our fears. Many people can relate to this. For example, there’s the fear of public speaking, which ranks higher than the fear of death. Now that’s scary. The fear of heights, the fear of water, the fear of closed spaces, the fear of open spaces, you get the message. So many of us allow those fears to run our lives, and this is how comfort zones are born.
What does F.E.A.R. stand for? It refers to False Evidence Appearing Real. In case you missed it, it’s false evidence appearing real. Only a tiny percentage of fears are actually justified. What does this mean? It means that we spend most of our lives fearing and doubting instead of living and enjoying. When we are seeking approval from others, when we are imagining the worst case scenario, when we are thinking up new ailments and conditions, when we are anticipating harm, and when we behave in these ways, we are also behaving like victims. We are a victim to our fears, to our egos, to our negative perceptions. So how do we get out of the victim mentality and start really living out our true potential?
The first step is to recognize what your fears are. Next, think about why you have them in the first place… is it because of a past experience, insecurities about yourself, other people’s opinions… what? Then think back to a time where your fears prevented you from taking action. What opportunities have you missed out on due to your fears and doubts?
Ask yourself, did your fear serve you or did it hold you back? Now, try to make an effort to change your perceptions. Face your fear before it faces you. More often that not, when you are ready to face your fear, the intention alone is enough to activate significant changes. Circumstances will shift in your favor. Doors of opportunity will open and that’s when you know what it’s like to operate at your full potential, with nothing holding you back. How liberating is that?!
I know that it’s easier said than done, right? Change my perceptions? But that’s hard to do. True, at first it may feel like torture. Your hands may get sweaty, your heart may race, butterflies may start dancing in your stomach. What do you do next? You push through it. You embrace it. You go with it. Just know that by going against what’s comfortable for you (for ego reasons), you are changing, expanding, growing, and creating. By going outside of your comfort zone, you are saying yes to new possibilities and no to old patterns that don’t serve you anymore. Is this all worth the effort? Well you tell me. If you don’t like something about your life, but you don’t do anything about it, nothing will ever change. Those old patterns are there for a reason… because thus far you’ve allowed your fears to get in the way of living the life you want.
When we change our head space and alter our perceptions, our environment changes too. How many times do you feel because of a “perceived” threat or the risk of feeling uncomfortable, you missed out on an opportunity? You chickened out when meeting new prospects for your Organo Gold business. You failed to follow through on your sales presentation that led to someone else signing up your prospective distributor. How discouragning is that? Or how about….You didn’t make an effort to get to know someone better, and instead you complain about your lack of solid, interpersonal relationships in this business. We can not complain about what’s wrong in our business when we often fail to make an effort to do what is right. And what is right may not always be what is comfortable.
So here’s an exercise for you. First, make a list of up to 5 things that make you extremely uncomfortable. Really think about it. Then think about why each thing makes you uncomfortable. What fears do you have and where do you think they come from? Then, each day for a week, pick one uncomfortable thing from your list, and do it! Obviously, this cannot be something that is a real risk or threat to you such as jumping into a vat of acid. Step outside of your comfort zone for one week and see what happens. Really open your eyes to seeing the positive changes taking place, and remember, there is no such thing as coincidence. So if things are changing for the better, this means it is working.
Now it is time for YOU to get uncomfortable!
