Bernard Hopkins Wins Over Jean Pascal

Bernard Hopkins took over as the oldest fighter to win a major world championship when he claimed the WBC light-heavyweight title following the defeat of his opponent, Jean Pascal at the actual age of 46.

Hopkins wrested the WBC, IBO as well as the Ring magazine titles from his 28-year-old adversary, who had previously been making his 5th defense at the Bell Centre. Hopkins, who has a career record of 52-5-2, is definitely the oldest fighter to take a major world title belt, six months older than George Foreman when he had taken the heavyweight title having a victory over Michael Moorer in 1994.
