A high school English teacher is in hot water after he allegedly threatened students with a failing grade because they chose to write about “guns” as part of a homework assignment.
Dewey T. Christian, English teacher at Denton high school, stifled his students’ right to freedom of speech after he asked them to write about pleasant experiences that the students had. Two of his students chose to write about guns.
One student wrote about his experience about buying a gun with his mother while another student wrote about his experience at a recent Fort Worth gun show.
