What is information marketing?
Information marketing involves the selling of information. They include “how-to” ebooks. Information is BIG business because people are always on the lookout for information that would help them solve their problems. There are tons of categories in the information industry, it is ridiculous. You can find ebooks on weight loss, dating, gambling, search engine marketing, personal safety, etc.
Traditionally, information was conveyed to the reader through paperback or hardback books. With books, publishers incur the high costs of overhead, production, and inventory.
Authors of these books normally get the short end of the stick in terms of profit margin.
Thanks to the internet and computers, there is now an industry that has eliminated those costs because information is conveyed to the consumer through digital means.
Perhaps you are familiar with ebooks. Perhaps you have downloaded some in the past and did not know that that is what they are called. You may have found that ebooks cost more than paperback or hardback books.
“Why do ebooks cost so much?” you ask. When people browse the internet, they are in search of information RIGHT now. Since we live in a “buy it now” or “get rich quick” society, people are willing to pay a high price to have it now. With a well thought out sales letter, an ebook can be sold right away. No need to drive to Borders’ Books. You have the answer to your problems right then and now.
How do ebooks relate to multi-level marketing (MLM)?
A lot. I have mentioned to my downline members that they should never start a conversation with their business opportunity. You are just begging for a “NO” answer when you do that. When you present your sales pitch in the very beginning, you are no longer differentiating yourself from the tons of other newbie networkers who do. In fact, you will turn your prospect off, and he will avoid you like the plague.
Enter the funded proposal system.
What is the funded proposal system?
It is a system is allows you to sell information that is the answer to many network marketers’ problems, which is how to get leads.
When people are surfing the internet for a way to earn extra money, what do they look for? Are they looking for the cheapest long distance service? An effective weight loss product? Or a product to help them with headaches?
No. Of course not. What they are looking for is a solution to their financial problems. Perhaps they want more money, more time with friends and family, or time freedom. So they surf the net for the answer.
Suppose you present to the prospects the answer to their problems. Does that solve their problem right away? Of course not. Not yet because they HAVEN’T seen the value of it.
If you utilize the funded proposal system of presenting a solution to their problem, such as your digital information product, only then will you get a swarm of excited prospects ready to pay you with their credit card. Think about the number of prospects who could be potential distributors in your business.
Offering a product such as your digital information marks the beginning of your sales funnel. The reason this system is called a funded proposal is because it accomplishes certain things such as the following:
- You earn an income on the front end. That is, you actually make money while recruiting prospects into your network marketing business.
- A prospect who displays willingness to spend money on building his business.
- A prospect who knows something and is familiar with multi-level marketing. You do not have to explain to him the concept of passive residual income.
- A prospect who views you as a network marketing expert who can help them solve their problems. In this case, it is the problem of finding leads for their MLM business.
If you could earn an income while signing up distributors and the leads you generate have money and are willing to spend it to build their MLM business, then there would be no end to the number of interested prospects wanting to know something about your opportunity.
Let me repeat that again, “no end to the number of interested prospects.” If there was no end, don’t you think your business would grow for once?
